We started this skin journey with an in-depth acne consultation, she’s had acne for years and unfortunately that came with years and years of antibiotics and using products that stripped her barrier. You can be eating the right food, taking all the supplements but if you are not addressing your central nervous system I hate to break it to you but you will never clear your skin!

This list could go on and on to be honest but my top 5 habits I introduced were
1. breakfast every morning. Without fail this is my number 1 tip to anyone healing their skin. A breakfast rich in protein and healthy fats (around 20-30g of protein) to help with blood sugar regulation, stop snacking on the wrong choices later in the day and stopping my body from being pushed into a further state of stress by not eating anything
2. Stop intermitting fasting I thought I was doing the right thing but actually was just sending my body into a further state of fight or flight mode by skipping meals, restricting myself and drinking coffee on an empty stomach
3. Got outside as soon as I could every morning for natural daylight exposure. I also walked every day without listening to podcasts, replying to work messages or scrolling on my phone just was present and not being ‘consumed by social media’
4. Breathwork the most underrated tool to help regulate your central nervous system 5-10 minutes a day, it’s free and we already do it. Replaced my scrolling in bed on an evening with this and habit stacked when out walking by focusing on breathing deeply
5. Stopped high impact excersize and focused solely on moving my body that felt good I did Pilates only for around a year (shout out to @thebodybybeth) and more recently started resistance training again. I was that person up for the gym at 4.30am pushing myself to go 6 weeks after having a baby then working 12 hour days at work juggling work a new born a 4 year old.
It’s so easy as women to be constantly on the go all the time and not even realise how busy we are.. this hugely impacts your hormones and skin. The minute I focused on this slowly my skin and gut improved.

Some meals and snacks I’ve enjoyed lately focusing on wholefoods that support my hormones and skin. As a busy mum I need quick easy meals as I don’t have hours to prep food but focus on things that make me feel good.
*not nutrition advice just meals I enjoy to support my body and skin that are quick and easy*
1. Mackerel pasta
2. 3 organic egg omelette with kiwi and mango
3. Sardines in olive oil with sourdough, organic cream cheese, rocket and Sundried tomatoes
4. 10% Greek yoghurt, almond butter, dates and mixed seeds
5. Organic vine tomatoes, mozzarella, basil, red onion and EVOO as a side salad (I had this with wild cod and boiled potatoes I forgot to take a pic)
6. 3 organic scrambled eggs with kiwi and blueberries
7. Grassfed mince bolognaise pasta bake with loads of veggies in
8. Grassfed beef slow cooked (served with veg and potatoes)
9. King prawns, stir fried veg in bone broth and rice noodles
10. Halloumi and chicken salad
11. Free range chicken breasts, asparagus pan seared in ghee with a feta side salad
12. Organic medjool dates with almond butter and dark choc (Devine)
13. Avocado on sourdough, chicken sausages, asparagus and fried tomatoe in ghee
14. Bone broth
And I also enjoy crisps, pastries and chocolate when I want them and don’t feel guilty about it! 80% whole foods 20% soul foods is my motto save for inspo

What busy busy month in and out of clinic! Lots of new clients, lots of amazing results, new online clients starting with me and lots of family + girls time Thank you 🫶

Here is why ⬇️

🥚Eggs DO NOT cause acne, organic pasteurised eggs are one of the best things you can eat full of good fats, approx 7g of protein, vit D and selenium to name a few and I advise all my clients to incorporate them. And guess what their acne still cleared!

🧪Exfoliating it all away doesn’t work. Focus on the internal work, find your root cause and use a gentle routine to support your skin barrier.

🥛Dairy DOES NOT cause acne. If it did everyone would be walking around with acne. For some a specific protein in dairy may trigger it and you may want to trial cutting it out temporarily but I always recommed introducing back in and getting to the root cause of why you are intolerant to it.

🥗 Gut health is so much more than taking a probiotic. There are so many factors to consider starting with your eating environment are you stressed when you eat? Scrolling? Standing? These are the first things I would consider instead of random supplements

🙋🏼‍♀️The pill does not balance your hormones. It masks what the problem is and if and when you come off it the problems will still be there and make your acne worse. I’m not against the pill but I wish people knew and understood the full impact it has on our bodies and then make an informed decision if that’s what they want to go on for x amount of years.

💊Conventional medicine has a place but is not the only option. Again it is a band aid solution and not addressing the root cause.

Every client I’ve ever functionally tested is low - severely low in Vitamin D this why I tell every acne client to GET OUTSIDE MORE

The struggle is REAL sometimes.. and don’t even get me started on the content creation 😂
seriously though most women I see feel exactly the same but don’t realise how being constantly on the go and the never ending to do list is affecting their skin

when I talk about ‘stress’ you don’t have to feel so stressed that you need medication it’s not always something you feel as our bodies are fighting off stress constantly - being on the go all the time and just the modern world we live in and the pressures that come with it

This hugely impacted my skin + still can if I don’t work on regulating my central nervous system things like
- breathwork
- Meditation
- Time for myself if that’s a treatment, the gym or Pilates whatever I enjoy!
- Have boundaries and say no and don’t feel guilty about it
- Most of rest.. things will get done (eventually) on the never ending to do list

When we are in more of a rest, digest + heal state our bodies can function better and be in homeostasis where it can rest, repair + restore itself but my god it can be hard 😂

my daily habits that improved my skin (and hormone) health
I implemented these when I was at the height of my gut/skin/ hormone issues and now are easy daily little habits which have had a big impact on me and recommend to most to my clients to try and implement

➡️ GET OUTSIDE DAILY in the morning. Helps regulate circadian rhythm, gets your body moving & that natural daylight exposure on my skin all essential for hormone health! 10 mins a day is all you need
➡️ MOVE YOUR BODY I do a mixture of walking, Pilates and resistance training throughout the week. Find what works for you, if you have acne I would incorporate lower impact and avoid higher impact excersize every day
➡️ PRIORITISE SLEEP I try to aim for 8 hours a night. Hormones regulate our sleep so healthy hormones = healthy sleep
➡️ RED LIGHT this is more for my skin but I also relax under my dermalux. At home masks are a great way to support your skin health in between treatments. I recommend @currentbody and are available to purchase from me
➡️ EATING A NUTRIENT DENSE DIET I support my hormones through nutrition and eating food I enjoy with balance of course. I still love chocolate, pizza and wine and have them. Learning not to restrict myself and to have balance has had the biggest impact on my own journey
➡️ BREATHWORK / MEDITATION this might sound woo woo for some people but this has a huge effect on my stress levels. High cortisol is something that massively impacted my hormones and still can if I don’t stick to these habits. 5 minutes of this helps to regulate my central nervous system. I recommend this to all my online programme clients and have amazing resources to introduce clients to it if they wish to use it.
➡️ HAVE BOUNDARIES my phone goes on do not disturb 1 hour before I sleep this stops the dreaded doom scroll or replying to work messages/doing work
